Discord is an instant messaging app that is available for web, desktop and mobile platforms. Unlike Whatsapp and Telegram, it organises messages in channels and doesn't require a phone number.
We have quite a large community of Scribes active on our Discord Server. Some of these channels will be less relevant for you but they will allow you to interact with our larger Scribe community š
Table of contents
The first time you log in to your Happy Scribe account, you will be asked to join our Discord community.
If you already have a Discord account, click on Already have an account, at the bottom. Otherwise, please set a username that will make it easy for us to identify you, for example your email username (whatever is before the @
) or your name and surname.

Never feel too shy to write on any of the Discord channels. The primary purpose is for everybody to feel connected and to help each other out. Note that you can also reach out to an admin privately if you prefer that.
As a scribe youāll have access to 3 types of channels.
You and all other scribes have access to the same general channels (with the exception of reviewers and translators). These channels each serve a specific purpose that you can read about below:
š„-global-community
The main channel. Admins will broadcast imporant information on here or keep in touch with the scribe community by checking in occasionally. Feel free to use this channel for non-workflow related things (e.g. Merry Christmas! Happy Easter! Happy Lunar New Year).
š-updates
A channel used mostly by admins only. Any updates with regards to the platform, the editor, the AI, communication, payment, the workflow etc. will be shared here.
š-help-and-tips
A channel used mostly by scribes who are in need of tips or support from other scribes or an admin. Example: āHow do I writeā¦ā or āWhatās the best way toā¦ā
š-platform-issues
A channel used exclusively to check in about issues affecting the general platformās usability. Scribes can report that the platform is down or that itās not working and see if other people notice the same thing. It also helps to inform an admin that way.
Scribes should not use this channel for editor and AI issues, as all messages on this channel are sent to the Happy Scribe team on another platform.
