Currently waiting for client feedback from the trial videos. However, the approach we followed for the trial videos were the following:
- Glossary creation here.
- Institutions' names (such as Universities or Hospitals) were not translated. Official name was kept. Only University, Centre, Hospital, etc were translated to “Universidad, Centro, Hospital, etc.”
- Regarding gender (since it needs to be specified in Spanish and it's not in some of the videos), we followed the source - meaning we used "neutral" when it was not clear if it was male or female. Please mirror de source. For example: If it says “women>mujeres”, if it says “patient” and it is not clear if it’s female or male, please use “paciente”
- Translate the on-screen text that appears, and followed the format and casing that appeared on screen. When the on-screen text overlapped with the person speaking, we prioritized the dialogue.
- English SRTs have SDH elements for the music. Please translate into Spanish and follow the same format.
- [inaudibles] tags are not allowed. If something is not clear, please reach out to Project Manager.
- Typos in the slides or in the English source: please flag to Project Manager.
- Legal Terminlogy:
- Please make sure you find the correct equivalent in Spanish.
- It can happen that there is paperwork specific to EE.UU only. If this is the case, it’s fine to leave as is, but add that they are US paperwork. Style on how this is done can be chosen by you.
