We are building the #1 Audiovisual Platform by combining state-of-the-art AI with trusted language experts to produce ****high-quality transcriptions, subtitles, and closed captions at speed.

About the role

Happy Scribe wants to build a team in a similar way to Basecamp and Instagram (before it got acquired). We want to keep it small, and fill it with top performing, amazing people, whilst staying focused on our diversity targets. This means hiring is resource intensive: it takes time to find the very best people for each position we fill. We apply executive search methods to almost all of our open roles: we handpick who we reach out to and we craft personalised emails that will capture the attention hard-to-reach candidates with crowded inboxes.

Treating each human interaction as a treasure is one of our values and we want it to come across from every interaction: from the first email, to a rejection or job offer.

You’ll know that you’re nailing the job if…

Someone replies to your email saying something along these lines:

A candidate you reject in a late stage of the interview process replies saying how much they enjoyed the interview process and appreciate the feedback you shared.
You’ve helped a hiring manager realise they should say no to a candidate who is good, but not great.

What you'll do

You will work closely Claudia (Head of People), Dorottya (Talent Acquisition Specialist) and with the two founders (Marc, CTO, and André, CEO) to source and hire the best people to join our small team. This is no easy endeavour: we look for excellence on both a professional and human level; finding and attracting the right people will take creativity, initiative and resourcefulness.

You will:

Find top performers by sourcing candidates from personal networks and LinkedIn amongst other channels.
Own and manage the hiring pipeline of the roles you’ll be working on, full cycle, from kick off and role scoping to offer making and closing. You’ll review applications, schedule and run screening interviews, and facilitate the rest of the hiring process, being the first point of contact for the candidates throughout the different stages.
Work with hiring managers to define the scope of the role, write the job description and define the hiring process.
Build a talent pipeline where diversity of nationality, gender, ethnicity, background, etc. is the norm and not the exception.
Think ahead and create a pool of talent for the future .
Look for communities and clusters where you might find top talent and find ways to engage with them. This could be hosting meet ups in the office or attending external events yourself.
