When you’re working on a merge gig, you need to ensure the file is customer ready.

That usually means you’ll only need to:

• Correct names, speaker labels and terms to make sure they’re written consistently throughout the file.
• Ensure consistent spelling and formatting throughout the file.

To do a good job, you are required to have watched the entire video or listened to the entire transcript of a file, otherwise you cannot know whether a file is customer-ready. If you realize that there are more corrections to be made, e.g.:

• Subtitle synchronisation
• Bad line breaks
• Incorrect spelling of things that could easily be researched
• Spelling and grammar mistakes of audio that has correct grammar
