Files that are assigned to you are your files. You have been instructed by an admin to work on them.

The benefit is two-fold:

• Nobody else can see your file but you.
• You cannot lose the file. When your time is up, you can simply proceed to re-claim it.

Usually we assign files when we need to guarantee a delivery time for the client and we reserve specific files to make sure you can work on them within the promised time.
