Hovering over the warning sign will tell you that this file is high priority, which means that this file was uploaded by a client who expects a quicker turnaround. As such, this file does not allow deadline extensions. If you’re working on this file during regular admin hours and you truly need more time, please let us know as soon as possible. Before working on the file however, try to estimate whether the time allowed will be enough.

Files that are high priority are paid at a higher rate to scribes. For more info, see “How do I know if a file is high priority 🔥?”

<aside> ⚠️ Exceptional cases Note: in some rare cases, files have a hard deadline because they’ve been unclaimed/left unedited for too long. In those cases they’re not high priority but late. We avoid doing this as much as possible, as we have full trust in our scribes, but this may happen as a last resort. Just like with high priority files, you should see prior to claiming that this file does not have any deadline extensions enabled.
