To claim a file, go to www.happyscribe.com/scribe or simply log onto happyscribe.com with your scribe credentials. Once there, you’ll find your dashboard, containing available files.
Here is an example of what your dashboard could look like if you wish to claim a file:
Any gigs that are under Assigned gigs
are available to you and you only. You cannot lose them, no matter how often you unclaim them.
Any gigs under Available gigs
are available to you and others. They are not assigned, and can disappear if others manage to claim them before you do.
For each project, you’ll see the following information listed:

How is the rate calculated? Rates for files in the 9 main transcription languages are variable. That means that for transcription and same-language subtitles (SLS) in English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Dutch, Italian, Catalan, Swedish and Polish, the rate is never the same. It depends on the difficulty estimator, which takes into account audio quality. Tougher audio is rewarded more.
For all other languages, such as all translation pairs (FLS) and all other transcription and subtitle languages, such as Serbian, Mandarin, Turkish, Filipino, etc. the rates are fixed. Rates will still depend on whether it’s transcription, subtitles (SLS) or translation (FLS), as the level of effort required increases with each step. See more on that here: Your gigs.

How is the time to submit calculated? The time to submit is dependent on the length of the file, the type of file and, for the 9 main languages listed above, the difficulty of the file. The time to submit will never be less than 2 hours, to give you ample time to work on shorter files.
