Before you can start working with us, you’ll need to ensure your profile is set up and that it’s connected to Discord.
An admin will have created your scribe account, ensured you have list view (not recommender view) and has added your qualifications. Some qualifications may be missing. These cannot be added directly due to the way the platform works, but that doesn’t mean you won’t get to work on files with those language pairs! It’s something we’re fixing as we speak.
Your task is to fill out your profile details and connect to Discord (feel free to say “Hi” on the Global Community channel). Log onto your scribe account (www.happyscribe.com/scribe) and follow the steps to do this.
You’ll notice that there’s a few aspects to your dashboard:
Files sidebar (top left)
The top left part contains sections with access to different files.
Gigs
Here, all files appear that are any of the following languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Dutch, Italian, Catalan, Polish, Swedish.
Or translation files that are English to Spanish, Spanish to English, English to French, and French to English.
These were the core languages and pairs that we offered: hence why they’ve always been in a separate tab.
Agency transcriptions
Here, all files appear that are same-language content (transcription or SLS) and are not any of the 10 main languages.
Agency translations
Here, all files appear that are translations outside of English<>Spanish and English<>French.
History
These are the gigs you’ve already worked on. Useful for creating invoices, or for checking anything if you have questions about certain files.
<aside> 📂
Files that are assigned to you appear in any tab you navigate to. They will appear on top under a header called Assigned gigs 🥳

Re-directs you to our standard transcription guidelines.
Re-directs you to Canny, where we collect users’ and scribes’ feedback. While mostly meant for scribes, it could be a great way for you to share any feedback about the platform, the product or the workflow.
Re-directs you to the Happy Tribe helpdesk, a useful environment with tons of informative pages.
Wallet
Your wallet shows you the amounts you’ve gotten paid. It will clear out every two weeks if you get automatic payments. It will manually clear out about every month if you get manual payments. See more on that here.
My performance
Your Performance Score. It’s largely ignorable if you’re a linguist with us, and is mostly meant for other scribes. It will be removed soon.
Qualifications and skills
All the languages, pairs and skills that are added to your profile.
